Goodwill/Thrift Haul For April 2017

PicMonkey Image

Hello hello lovies!! I hope you are all having a fantastic day, and are ready for another goodwill/thrift haul!! This is everything that I purchased at Goodwill in the last month, the month of April, I say this every time, but I got some amazing stuff this month, and am so lucky to have found what I have! I honestly never know what I may find, and it’s always a chance, or a risk, but So worth while looking, and sometimes I come out with a a lot, a few, or nothing, you never know what you will find, it’s the hunt that is my favorite! I look at it like a treasure hunt, never knowing what I may find, it’s a ton of fun, but I have always been this way, I love finding good deals, and treasures, but who doesn’t right? I am continuing to do this blog series, as it seems like I am getting a lot of positive feedback, and you are all enjoying it! I appreciate your continued support in this series, and checking out, and sometimes being jealous of my finds, hey I am jealous of the people that was able to find even cooler stuff then me, for example, in this haul, I went into my local goodwill, and the woman (all the employees know me) said, oh ya, we had a bunch of Urban Decay stuff, but they are gone already, I almost died, lol, I got the 2 that were left, they were priced at $2.99 each, yes they are bright purple, but come on I couldn’t pass them up!! So ya, I know how it feels for sure, I can’t go every day, lol, although some people definitely do! So, I always feel fortunate to find such amazing stuff when I do go! Like I have said, I go to about 6 different stores in my area, I am so lucky to have so many so close to me, and live in a very eco-friendly, recycle friendly city/state, yes Oregon is seriously the best, and am so thankful I live in this beautiful state!! I will link below my other goodwill hauls I have done, and ps, I don’t even share everything that I purchase, like clothes, etc, because somethings are just to hard to photograph lol! I hope you enjoy my finds, if you are curious on prices that I paid on anything just ask! 🙂 Here are my favorite things this month that I found! What do you think? What is your favorite? Below is a list of my favs, make sure you come back around the same time next month for more awesome stuff I found at goodwill!! Thanks for reading! 🙂

Urban Decay 2 lipsticks (bright purple colors, but who cares) paid $2.99 each

Starbucks Portland, Oregon water bottle (what a find, these are part of the travel series, and wanted this in store, this is brand new, so cool, love it) paid $2.99

Blue quartz stone bookends (I have always wanted a set of these but they are always so expensive, I love these, so pretty) paid $2.99 each

Butterfly clay jewelry box (I mean this was meant for me to find, it’s so perfect, and cute, I love handmade stuff, and anything butterfly) paid $3.99

Oh Joy (from target) salad server set, and appetizer forks (as you may have seen in my previous posts, I am obsessed with this line from target, and have found so much of it for cheap at goodwill) paid $9.99 & paid $4.99

The body shop bath set in british rose (I freaked out when I saw this, jumped for joy, lol, all brand new, and smells amazing) paid $3.99

Avon set of 2 jars (so so so cute, I had to have them for my vanity, I love vintage avon, and collect them, these are little jars, I love them) paid $2.99 & paid $1.99

Sephora pantone lipstick (this was the same day I found the urban decay lipsticks, it’s a pretty pink color, and was new in box, no longer available at sephora, the makeup junkie in me had to have it, although it wasn’t “cheap”) paid $9.99

Walmart Beauty Box Spring 2017 Review

Screen Shot 2017-04-11 at 2.52.10 PM

Hi there all my lovies!! Welcome to the blog today, and happy hump day, lol, let’s jump right into today’s blog, because I only have a limited amount of time today (it’s nap time) so I am going to rush through this blog post today, I hope that’s okay. I just received my Walmart Beauty Box for Spring a few days ago, and wanted to get it up for you all as soon as possible, in case it’s still available, and you wanted to get one! The Walmart Beauty Box is $5 (that covers shipping, the box is free) this box is all beauty related, and is shipped quarterly, which is 4 boxes a year, 1 box per season. When you sign up for the box, it is automatically paid, and the $5 is deducted from your account for the box. I have been a subscriber since the first box was released, and think it’s a great valued box, although I do feel like the brands repeat quite a bit unfortunately, and wish they would get new brands to be in the box. I love trying out new products, hint to why I am a beauty blogger, lol, right? so this box has always been good for me, and a good deal, because otherwise I wouldn’t have the opportunity to try out these products. Everything that is sampled in the box can be found at Walmart, which I shop at anyways, so it is very easy to pick up the full size products, if I end up liking them, which is nice. Let’s check out everything that I got in my Spring beauty box, and fyi the box will vary depending on your age, I am 35, so I am not sure which box I get, and may have changed my age at some point to get the younger box lol, which I believe is called the “trendsetter” but, who knows! What do you think of the box? Do you think it is worth the $5 quarterly? Do you end up using the products, and or coupons? Sometimes I feel like I won’t use some of the products, and I am not a huge couponer either so I feel like those get wasted in the box. If you would like to sign up here is the link 🙂 Enjoy the pictures, I will be back on Friday with another post, really trying to do the 3 posts a week, and stick to it! Thanks as always for your support!

Pixi by Petra Hello! 3-piece Beauty Kit Review

Screen Shot 2017-04-09 at 11.12.49 PM.png

Hello, hello my beautiful lovies!! I hope you are all having a great Monday, and an amazing start to your day!! Today’s blog is a pretty one, thank you for joining me, and checking out my review. I am reviewing this Pixi by Petra, we are just going to refer to it as Pixi from now on in the blog just to make it easier on myself, lol. I was excited that I received this as PR from Pixi, they are the best, and I love all of their amazing products!! I really love getting packages from them, and feel very lucky! They sent me this beautifully cute 3 piece beauty kit, it is available at Target, and online at Pixi by Petra. This kit retails for $22.00, this kit is available in 2 different options, and collections, today I am reviewing the hello! Rose beauty kit, and it is part of their new collection, which is perfect for Spring! The kit was sent with real mini rose petals, their PR packages are the best, they really make an effort for packaging, and presentation! Opening the packaging it smelt like roses, such a bonus! This kit is perfect for any rose lover, the colors in the kit are so pretty, and pink, yet delicate, and will suite many skin tones, because of the light colors. I literally haven’t found a product that I don’t love from Pixi, they are hands down my favorite drugstore (high end drugstore) brand, I have been using, and loving their products for years!! This little kit is perfect for someone who wants to try out their products, without spending to much, etc. My favorite thing in this kit is the lip gloss, it’s the most beautiful shade of pink, it’s not to bright, or overpowering, it’s the perfect nude mauve, not sticky on the lips, and has a good wear time, and smells sweet, and glides on the lips effortlessly. I love this lip gloss, I will be getting it in the full size! I also really love the blush duo, the pink is subtle, and easily blendable into the skin, the highlight side of the duo is the same, and perfect for highlighting under the brow bone, or the cheeks, I used it for both, and love the color, and touch of bling it provides! This 3 piece beauty kit is defintely worth a try, as I am sure you will find a favorite, and fall in love with Pixi by Petra!

Origins “My Perfect World” Launch Event in Portland, Oregon for Influenster

What I got in the influenster voxbox to sample

Hi there lovies, and welcome to the blog this fine Monday morning! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend, and end to your week last week. I was very busy working, (playing mommy for 5 days to a year old baby girl) Very fun, but I am exhausted!! I wanted to get a blog post up this morning to talk about a great event I went to on Friday night! As you may have heard, Origins was having an exclusive launch party (only in select cities, and locations) I guess I got lucky! I was one of the lucky ones, that literally was having one of the launch parties in my city, yeah! I was notified of it by influenster, and getting into the origins vox box skincare line for the my perfect world launch party. Upon getting into the launch event, and influenster voxbox, they sent me a great selection of skincare deluxe size samples to try, which I was expecting full size, and actually expecting to get to try this actual skincare line, so it was odd that nothing from this new launch was included in the box that I got from influenster, I was a bit shocked, and disappointed, isn’t that what the whole point of the launch is so us “influensters” can try the actual product? Hmm, ya I was a bit confused, and definitely disappointed to say the least. I am grateful that they sent some skincare items to try yes, but it would have been nice to try these new launched products before the actual launch event, don’t you agree? Oh well, and of course I love them, lol, that’s just how it happens I guess! So let’s talk about the launch party, the way it was organized wasn’t very good, I got there right at 5, at the start time, and had a baby in tow, I was baby wearing her, because it’s a very small store, and she was being really happy, and good thankfully! So as this was a launch event, I believed it was going to be exclusively to influensters only, nope I was wrong, it’s like the people were not informed or something, some were, some weren’t. All of us women were in the store to do the same thing, some women stuck around, some did what they needed to do for the influenster badges, and left, I tried to mingle, and stay around, and chat with others, yes all while having a 12 month old 🙂 On the invite, it made it seem like there were going to be appetizers, drinks, etc. and nope, just tea, water, and mini cupcakes, also the free mini facials that you had to sign up for were supposed to be 20 minutes, umm ya, more like 3 minutes, again disappointed. Another huge disappointment was that they were sold out of the product I wanted, what I came for, they were offering a 20% off the entire store during the launch, so I really wanted the modern friction scrub in the full size, I love that stuff, and they were sold out, they only had the mini size, bummer, and let them know that I was disappointed. There were some fun aspects to the party, there was an artist who was doing charcoal sketches which was fun, he was talented, but I guess I should’ve smiled lol! There was also a tea reading, which I didn’t do because the reader was taking a very long time, but that would have been fun to do. I ended up getting 2 sample mask packs, upon checkout, I had to ask for samples, and the free journal they were giving out, because I saw others with it, I was like seriously? Anyways, all in all, the store, and the skincare is absolutely beautiful, but clearly, they had some work to do, and left disappointed, but not as I was expecting a lot more, especially since influenster made it seem like it was a huge deal, etc. I’m glad I went because I met a cool chick that had a purse full of lipsense, so I bought “praline rose” and “glossy gloss” on the spot, thanks paypal lol! I am SO excited I ran into her, because I have been dying to try it, and fell in love with the color, and staying power, so I did get lucky there! Glad I attended the party, and I hope more launch parties will be better in the future, but do love the new my perfect world skincare line. Check out the pics from the event!!

Goodwill/Thrift Shopping Haul Beauty

IMG_8720.JPG

Hi there lovies!! Welcome to the blog today, you obviously came because you are interested in seeing how I got all of these amazing beauty products at goodwill right? Well, let me tell you, I sure did, everything you are seeing in the pictures were purchased at Goodwill. I am so incredibly lucky to have the best goodwill stores in the country, and feel very fortunate to be able to shop at several different locations, I have about 10 I circulate, and shop at regularly. There are sometimes were I find, and purchase lots of good stuff, but there are also times where I walk out with nothing. Please remember that all of these items were not purchased at the same time, or even the same day for that matter. I just get lucky, very lucky! 🙂 Most of my purchases are brand new, this post has one vintage item (the vintage gold Avon candle) sometimes I find vintage, and sometimes I find brand new donated from Target, it all just depends on the day, and what I find. I love the hunt, and the thrill of finding treasures, or my unicorns! I will include my other posts that I have posted, I will continue to post monthly post hauls, because you all really seem to enjoy them! Please keep the positive comments coming, and the negative away, I would appreciate it a lot! Let’s check out all I was able to find this month, I purchased some amazing deals, I am excited to try everything out! I am in love with the vintage Avon candle holder, it is perfect for my beauty room, it has the original candle inside even, unburned, pretty cool that I was able to find it, it smells terrible, but I love it, and for $2.99 it was such a bargain! I am also excited about all the shampoo/ conditioner that I was able to find, and will be using, perfect for my color treated hair, and they all smell amazing! I also love that I found Pixi by Petra makeup, Pixi is one of my favorite makeup at the drugstore (Target) brands, and I am a blogger for them as well. I have found a lot over the years of Pixi, and love when I do! The eyeshadow palette is from 2015 holiday collection, so that was an awesome find! What do you think is the coolest/best thing that I found this month? Let me know in the comments below, and please check out my previous posts for more amazing, and cool goodwill hauls! I hope I continue to find awesome stuff, and deals!

P.S. I am not posting prices this month, because honestly I have already put everything away, and removed all the prices, they are the most sticky little boogers, and annoy me so much, but it’s a part of purchasing at goodwill, they have really hard to remove, and sticky stickers, lol. If there is anything you are wondering how much I paid for, just ask, they are all bargains that’s for sure, and for that I am thankful, enjoy the pictures of all the cool stuff I found this month!! 🙂

Olay Sponge Dual Sided Body Cleanser

Hello lovies! Happy Friday to all of you! I am really trying to get caught up on blogs, so that they are scheduled, and that equals way less stress for me, so it will be a good thing!! I like to do a few posts at a time while watching a movie, so that’s what I am doing right now!! It makes it much easier, and for some reason it helps my mind flow, making my writing better as well, which is definitely a plus! I hope you are all having a good end to your week, mine has been, as always a busy one that’s for sure! Time just continues to fly by!

I was at my local Target, and saw a really cool display, it was light and everything! I will post some pictures, because wow, it was pretty amazing, and really attracted me, and made me want to try this product, funny as that sounds! They were really trying to push this product at Target, and at Walgreens I have seen recently as well. They have a really cool display, and pretty much screams buy me, give me a try!! Lol! Their marketing, and advertising is on point for these! These new products come in 3 different types/ scents which are Old Spice, Olay, & Ivory. I only purchased one though, the Olay, because it smelt amazing, and had to give that one a try!

This is a brand new product from Proctor & Gamble, the company who owns Olay. It is so innovative, and a totally new concept in body cleansing. I thought it looked so easy, and convenient to use, so I knew I had to give it a try. Let me tell you, the display, and packaging is pretty cute as well. It’s so new, and hip, a totally new concept to a body sponge. It’s a sort of all in one, scrub, clean, smooth, and hang to dry, sounds easy right? The scent is very strong, if you are not into strong scents, you will not like this. As soon as you open the plastic packaging, the scent becomes a bit overpowering, but it dissipates when you first use it. It lathers, and scrubs very well, all while maintaining a fresh, clean, flowery scent. It cleanses really well, your entire body, and rinses clean as well, with no residue left on the skin. I love the hanger, it’s rubberized, and comes apart, it can practically hang on anything, or anywhere, making it really easy to use! I have used it 10 times/days so far, I hope it lasts, because it’s a pretty cool product! It is expected to last for 30 days, I haven’t seen if it does or not. I hope it does though! I enjoy using it. The price is a bit expensive though, at $9.99, I most likely won’t repurchase it unless it goes on sale, for 30 days, I feel it’s a bit overpriced. Let’s jump right into my review!

Influenster Voxbox Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Review

screen-shot-2017-03-01-at-12-24-34-pm

img_8777img_8776

Hello my lovies!! How are you all doing today? Happy Wednesday to all of you!! I hope your are all having a great start to your week!! This week is a slower week for me with work, so it will be nice to have the break, and have the opportunity to catch up on other stuff that needs to be taken care of, and on blogs, heck, maybe this week I will make a youtube video even, okay probably next week, or this weekend, and edit it, since I need to make one for this post anyways for influenster! Wish me luck 🙂

This review is all about Influenster, and Laura Mercier translucent loose setting powder! Laura Mercier is my all time favorite brand for translucent setting powders!!! They are launching more colors other then translucent, and influenster gave me the opportunity to test it out first for free, and completely complimentary!! I love influenster!! I was a little worried about this box though because I thought it was only introducing the new darker (for deeper/darker skin tones) powder, I was very happy that it was a box for multiple ones, and skin tones!!  I was excited that I got the translucent, because I was running low on my other one, and was going to purchase it anyways, and the powder puff, so this was perfect that I got into this one! Yeah for awesome, and high end Influenster voxbox’s finally! I have been getting so many drugstore ones, I was wondering if I was ever going to get a good high end brand one to review! Glad I did!! Anyways if you don’t know about Influenster, you definitely should, it’s an amazing review website that you join, and the more active you are on social media, and on the site, the more campaigns you will receive. I have gotten about 10 so far, and love them!! I definitely recommend joining, if you would like an invitation, I would be happy to send you one, just leave your email in the comments! I got lucky with this one, because it was a product I already use, and love! This is by far the best setting powder I have ever used!! Check out my review below! Thanks for reading!

My Review:

As I mentioned above, Laura Mercier translucent loose setting powder is my all time favorite setting powder! I use it for setting my concealer under my eyes, and all over setting face powder. It works great, and leaves my skin looking flawless, without being cakey, and overly powdery. A little bit goes a long way with this product, and you do get a good amount, you get 1 oz. in the full size. It retails at $38, which is somewhat pricey for the amount of product, but it’s worth the price, and does seem to last a long time. This is available for purchase at where Laura Mercier products are sold like, Nordstrom, Sephora, etc. The setting powder that they are launching, and what this campaign is for is the colored translucent powders, as they are brand new to the Laura Mercer translucent loose setting powder family! Now it will perfect for many different skin tones. I do have oily skin, and a light complexion so I use the regular current translucent shade. This powder has a silky texture, smooth, and doesn’t sit into fine lines, and wrinkles, or my large pores. It lasts all day without needing a touch up, which is important for someone who is as busy as I am!! I love this powder, and definitely recommend it! If you would like to purchase it, please use the links below, thanks!

Details & Care:
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder contains the finest French cashmere talc, which results in sheer, silky powder that looks and feels natural. It also contains a unique light-reflecting ingredient that creates a soft-focus appearance on your skin, minimizing the visibility of fine lines and imperfections.
How to use:

Dip your powder puff (sold separately) in the powder and then massage the powder in the puff. Remove excess by tapping the puff on top of your skin. Use a rolling motion to work the powder into your skin.

HUGE Goodwill/ Thrift Shopping Haul!

img_8634img_8632

Hello all the lovies, welcome to the blog today!! Boy do I have an awesome post for you all today!! Just like last month around this time, I have decided to share my awesome goodwill haul with you for the month of February. Also, again like last month (I will link it here) I have some amazing deals, and finds! Obviously I am a beauty blogger, so most all of this is beauty related! Sometimes when I find these deals, I can’t believe my eyes, I grab it so fast, because I know it’s a great deal! Part of the fun is the hunt, as I have said before, it’s like you are finding little treasures. I typically don’t find this much beauty/ skincare/ makeup items, but this month I scored for sure!! I was so excited for some of these finds! My favorites this month are marked below, but they include the Oh Joy pink swan, I can’t wait to hang it in my beauty room, the vintage drawer box, man this thing is so cool, it was covered in residue from cigarette smoke, I cleaned it up, and it’s perfect now, I don’t know how old it is, but it most definitely is beautiful, that will go in my beauty room as well, I couldn’t believe it was only $2.99, wow!! This was the only non Target donated item I found this month, everything else came from Target. Like I have said before, I am very thankful to have amazing goodwill’s in my city, I shop about 10 different locations on a regular basis, sometimes I find amazing stuff, sometimes I walk about with nothing. These hauls are an accumulation, but I go often, as I never know when they are going to have anything, or put it on the shelves! I also want to mention, I find, and purchase a lot more, that I don’t even show you 🙂 Sometimes, it’s to big of an item to take good photos of, or I want to use it right away, and I never show the clothes I get because it’s a pain to photograph, but I do share most of what I find as much as possible, because I think you all enjoy seeing! Thank you for the support, and if you think buying from Goodwill in any negative way, then please keep those comments to yourself, as I do not, and have been shopping, and saving thousands of dollars for years! And I would never buy “used” makeup, that’s just nasty in my opinion 🙂 These are my opinions, and I love shopping at goodwill, and am not afraid, or embarrassed what so ever, I highly recommend checking out your local goodwill, and thrift stores! Enjoy the post, if you have any questions just ask! Thanks for checking out all the cool stuff I got at goodwill this month! I am excited to start using everything now 🙂

Walmart Beauty Box Winter 2016 Review

screen-shot-2017-01-02-at-10-25-53-pm

img_7686

Hi there lovies, I hope you are all having a wonderful day, and staying warm, it is really cold here, straight chilly, so I thought it would be a great day to review the walmart beauty box for Winter, if you are unfamiliar with it, it’s a quarterly subscription box that cost $5 per quarter, the box is actually free, but they charge $5 to ship the box. It’s a great way to try new products that are launching, or new to walmart. They send deluxe, and sometimes full size samples, which is great. They really just want to get these products out there for people to try. I love walmart beauty box, and have had an excellent experience with them, I have been subscribed for over 2 years now, ever since they first launched the subscription. I have really enjoyed this subscription, and always end up trying out, and using all the products so it’s a win, win. It’s always great because it comes with coupons to use toward purchasing the full size products, yet another win, win! I definitely will continue to subscribe, review, and let you know what I think about this box! Like I said this is not a monthly box, it is quarterly, so it comes 4 times a year, so basically you are paying $20 a year to get some great samples to try out. I highly recommend subscribing! You have nothing to loose for $5, even if you give it a try, and then cancel right? If you would like to see all the previous box reviews, feel free to search “walmart” in the search bar to check them out. I think I have reviewed all of them so far, maybe not, but I think I have 🙂 Enjoy. Happy Sampling. I also want to mention that there are variations to this box according to your profile, and age. I am not sure which box I get, I think I may have changed my age at some point to see what comes in the different boxes, lol. Thanks for reading!

Hello there lovies!! Happy Tuesday, but it really feels like Monday huh? Happy New Year!! I took the last week off, not really intentionally, but I met my goal on Christmas of posting 5 times a week until Christmas, and was ready for a little break, it has been a super busy week with work, pretty  much non stop, but that’s okay, it kept me really busy. This week has literally flown by, no idea how that happened, December is the busiest time of the year for me, busy, busy! I am so proud of myself to have met my goal, and now I am ready to be back at blogging regularly. Yeah, blogging 5 days a week has really taught me a lot, and showed me that I am able to achieve goals, and fall in love with blogging again, which is so exciting! I really do enjoy it, as always my favorite part is interacting with all my readers (you guys rock) so thank you so much for all your support over the past month!

Today I am here to share with you my Play by Sephora box. I want to say upfront that this will be my last box. I canceled my subscription, I may change my mind, but for now, I decided the best thing to do for me right now to save some money for the 2017 year is to cancel most of my subscription boxes, so I have slowly been picking, and choosing which ones to cancel. I was so sad to cancel this one, because it has been one of my favorites. I feel like the samples aren’t for me anymore. I have so many samples already, and am trying to get through what I have. Another big reason I am canceling is because I feel like the samples are repeating, and are getting small, I think that Sephora is getting comfortable with these play boxes, and what they put in them. Regardless, I don’t think it’s worth the money, the $10 anymore sadly. I also feel like you can get a lot of these samples for free, or as gifts with purchases, etc. Regardless, this is my opinion, let me know what you think about Play by Sephora. The best thing in this month’s box is the dry bar dry shampoo. I like it, and it works well for my hair type, but I only will be able to use it a couple times because it’s so small. Kinda bummed about the sizes of samples in this month’s box. Let’s check out what I got in my box for December.
